We might just be a little past the half-way mark of 2015, but to say Richmond, VA’s Shockoe has had an interesting year so far would be a big understatement. Founded in 2012, the brand launched with an exclusive focus on crafting denim jeans with a clean, modern aesthetic and community-driven approach. Fast forward to the beginning of 2015 and we see Shockoe not only offer up a whole new collection of shirting and outerwear for Autumn/Winter 2015, but also sunset the “Shockoe Denim” name only to give birth to “Shockoe Atelier“.

But hey, just because Shockoe Denim is a name of the past, don’t think they’ve forgotten their roots. In anticipation of the cooler temperatures ahead, we’re introduced to four new, core fabrics that are slated to hit shelves across all of their fits in September.

On the lighter end is the 10.5 oz. Kuroki Mills-sourced “Black” denim, woven with a 2% stretch and retailing for $225.00. Slightly heavier are two dark indigo selvedge denims from Italy’s Candiani Mills; the “Stretch” weighing in at 12 oz. with 2% stretch, the “Como” a 13 oz. with tinted weft, and both priced at $25.000. Lastly is the 14.5 oz. Collect Mills “Kojima” selvedge denim; boasting a slubby texture and silver caste, and available for $275.00.

We’re planning to review one of these four fabrics in the near future, so feel free to sound off in the comments below if there’s a specific denim you’d like us to highlight. For more information on Shockoe Atelier, head over to their website.
